ELLEN STRITTMATTER (b. 1976 in Freiburg i. Br./DE) is an art and literary historian, curator, and artist. She is Head of the Art Departmentat ifa since January 2019. Strittmatter studied art education (painting), and German and Romance languages and literature at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart/ DE, the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg/DE, and the University of Stuttgart. In 2009, she completed her doctorate on the work of Hartmann von Aue. In 2007 she became an academic assistant at the German Literature Archive in Marbach/DE, where she curated and directed numerous exhibitions and research projects, and from January 2017 to December 2018 she was director of the museums there. From 2006 to 2018 she taught at the Institute of Literary Studies at the University of Stuttgart. She is the editor of several publications. Strittmatter lives and works in Stuttgart/DE.
